Each module, what it does and where to go next
The list above is the inventory. This is what each module is for, and the module or guide behind it.
General ledger
- What it does.
- Chart of accounts, journals and 35 voucher types out of the box, with receivables and payables tracked bill by bill, bank reconciliation against the ledger, cost centres nested as deep as you need, and project accounting.
- The outcome.
- A figure on the trial balance opens the document that created it, whichever module raised it.
- Go further.
- See the module → Read the month-end guide →
Fixed assets
- What it does.
- Asset and asset-type masters with the ledgers set per type, straight line, diminishing value or none prorated by day count, and purchase, addition, revaluation and disposal each their own voucher.
- The outcome.
- Every asset carries its cost, its depreciation and the date it left, on the same ledger as everything else.
- Go further.
- See the module →
Sales & invoicing
- What it does.
- Quotations, sales orders and delivery notes; invoices on your own templates and credit notes; point of sale, price levels and dated price lists; receivables ageing, returns and commission.
- The outcome.
- Sell something and the stock moves, the receivable opens and the ledger updates in the same action.
- Go further.
- See the module → Open Mobile Sales →
Purchasing
- What it does.
- Material requests, reorder levels and purchase orders; receipt notes with inward quality inspection, additional cost of purchase and returns; multi-level approvals on the documents you choose; supplier invoices and payables ageing.
- The outcome.
- Approvals happen before the money is committed, not after.
- Go further.
- See the module →
Inventory
- What it does.
- FIFO, LIFO, weighted average and standard costing; multi-location stock held and valued per location; serial and batch tracking with expiry and date of manufacture; movement, fast/slow and profit analysis per item; quality control at goods-in, production and dispatch.
- The outcome.
- You read the same stock by group, by item and by depot without re-counting anything, and the valuation runs on demand rather than on a figure typed at the start of the month.
- Go further.
- See the module → Read the stock valuation guide →
Manufacturing
- What it does.
- Named bills of material per item and item kits, a stock journal that moves material out and finished goods in, production planning for discrete and mixed-mode runs, and job costing through cost centres.
- The outcome.
- Material comes off stock as it is consumed, and the cost lands on the same job through cost centres, not a separate module.
- Go further.
- See the module → Open inventory →
Analytics
- What it does.
- Trial balance, profit & loss and balance sheet; receivables and payables ageing and the cash position; budgets, budget vs actual and scenarios; over 100 standard reports, each exportable to Excel. Group totals across companies come from Factura Desktop.
- The outcome.
- A controller and an owner read the same figures, off the same data, and any figure opens the document behind it.
- Go further.
- See the module → Read the month-end guide →
Ghana compliance
- What it does.
- VAT at 15 %, NHIL 2.5 % and GETFund Levy 2.5 % are posted through tax-inclusive classes on the voucher; invoices go to the GRA’s VSDC service and come back signed, with the SDC identifier, receipt number and QR code printed; withholding tax is captured on the payment voucher; and a boxed VAT return comes off the ledger.
- The outcome.
- VAT is allocated to your VAT ledger as the invoice is entered, not worked out afterwards, and the return is a report off your own books rather than a separate spreadsheet.
- Go further.
- Use the VAT & levies calculator →
Platform
- What it does.
- Documents route through the approvers you set, in the order you set them. Rights are set per window — create, alter, delete, print and display — per user, and multi-currency and multi-company run on the same ledger design.
- The outcome.
- A report screen is its own window, so someone can read the trial balance without being able to post to it.
- Go further.
- See it in the general ledger →
Mobile
- What it does.
- Factura Mobile Sales takes orders, raises invoices, checks stock, records collections and runs point of sale from a phone, posting to the same books. A connection is needed to save a document — there is no offline entry queue.
- The outcome.
- A rep checks stock and sells in front of the customer, and it lands in the books without anyone re-typing it back at the office.
- Go further.
